If you have a spot in your garden, balcony, or deck that receives more than six hours of direct sunlight, you can grow tomatoes, onions, peppers, squash, garlic, and leafy greens. Learn plant selection, soil preparation, potting methods, pest protection, extending crops into fall, and food preparation.

Learn the basics of using the internet, such as opening a browser, using Google, effective searching, understanding the cloud, and more. Mouse skills are necessary and will not be taught during this session.

The Crete Public Library Film Club will now be meeting the fourth Thursday of the month. Enjoy a unique cinematic event on the library's big screen with refreshments and a short discussion following the movie. Frequently features independent or foreign films. Join us once a month to learn the basics of coding and computer programming with Ms. Chambers. Each hour-long session will focus on a specific challenge to help students get an introduction to using block based programming and code with a focus on robotics.

Join us for Book Appétit as we enjoy a potluck array of food from one cookbook per month. Each member picks a recipe from the current months cookbook and brings their dish to share with other members. Copies of the book will be available in advance at the Patron Services Desk. Krista Stevenson, SNAP Outreach Coordinator for the Northern Illinois Food Bank, will assist people with filling out applications for the Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as Food Stamps or Link Card.

Silent Book Club is a monthly opportunity to gather in person to read together in quiet camaraderie. To join us, bring or check out a book of your own choice and meet us at the seating area by the fireplace. We'll read for an hour, then chat about our books.

Knot Just for Knitters is the library's regular group of needleworking patrons who get together to share camaraderie while working on knitting, crocheting, or any other type of needlework project. Everyone is welcome. The group meets on the first Thursday of the month from 1-2pm and on the third Thursday of the month from 6-7:30pm at Crete Public Library District.
