Join us at Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve — 27064 Dutton Rd, Beecher, IL 60401—as we walk and talk about books. There is no assigned reading for this group. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water bottle. Participants of this program will be asked to sign a waiver of liability. Join us once a month to learn the basics of coding and computer programming with Ms. Chambers. Each hour-long session will focus on a specific challenge to help students get an introduction to using block based programming and code with a focus on robotics.

Have you ever wanted to blow something up, safely? Does fire scare you or intrigue? Well,...chemistry might be in your blood! The Bloom Trail HS Chem Club is putting on a show for you at the Crete Public Library and we'll be doing just that... Fire and Explosions! We have about 15 different science demonstrations to show you and help you either learn about chemistry or review chemistry that you have since forgotten! We've got things to blow up, smell bad and change colors, and they'll even be some FREE ice cream (made with Liquid Nitrogen). Come on out and have some fun with SCIENCE!

Animals are fascinating creatures, and many have inspired inventors across the world. These creations are examples of ‘biomimicry’ or “the design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modeled on biological entities and processes.” Join us as we look to the animals around us to create our own examples of biomimicry and learn about all the other interesting inventions they’ve inspired.
